Packing For A Girls Weekend

Hi Wanderers,

This past weekend I was in Chicago with my girlfriends. It was a blast! We laughed so hard that we cried, we ate delicious Italian food, we celebrated the @food.diva’s birthday and we drank a little more than we should. It’s safe to say that we let loose and really lived it up on our mini vacation.

I packed a carry-on for the weekend with outfits suitable for sightseeing and a night out on the town. I also needed to consider that the weekend would be chilly and we would be walking all day and all night. So without any more rambling, here is what I packed…

  • Two pairs of jeans, a black pair and a blue pair
  • Two sweaters, a short knit one and a long one
  • One black bodysuit
  • Two cute tops
  • One dress
  • Two pairs of shoes, a slip on pair and my black knee highs
  • One comfy outfit consisting of yoga pants and jacket
  • One grey spring coat (that wasn’t warm enough)

Chicago is a nice city! Truthfully, I think I would enjoy it a little more in the summertime since it was cold and living up to it’s nickname “The Windy City”. It definitely had Toronto vibes and I was surprised at how kind the people were. There’s also lots to see and do:

  • Cloud Gate a.k.a. The Bean
  • Millenium Park
  • Skydeck in Willis Tower
  • Navy Pier
  • Big Bus Tour (Hop on, hop off)
  • London House (View from the rooftop cupola)
  • Chicago Riverwalk
  • Food experiences – Hampton Social for the most Instagrammable meal and restaurant, Uno’s for deep dish pizza (not for me), Riccardo Trattoria and RPM for amazing Italian (really really amazing!!), Bodega for churros and of course, Stan’s Donuts and Coffee
  • Many nightclubs to choose from if you want to hit the town

It was a jam packed weekend and I loved every minute of it. Despite the sore legs and tired feet, we powered through and saw everything that we planned. Even after only three hours of sleep, we still kept going. That’s dedication if you ask me.

Happy Travels,
